Italian energy social bonus: who qualifies and how to get it

The social bonus is a bill discount for households in economic difficulty or with members in serious health conditions. **Who qualifies.** Households with an ISEE within the threshold set each year (higher for large families) and, regardless of income, those using life-saving electromedical equipment (physical hardship bonus). **How to get it.** Since 2021 the economic bonus is automatic: you just need to file the DSU and have a valid ISEE. The discount is applied directly to your bill, whatever your provider. The physical hardship bonus must instead be requested, with an ASL certificate. **What we check for you.** That your ISEE is up to date, that the bonus is actually applied to your bill (it doesn't always happen) and that the amount is correct.
